Do you know a woman in the Shuswap (from Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Sorrento, the North Shore and all areas in-between), who is deserving of this recognition? The honour is open to all women in our community whether working in the home, serving as volunteers, working for an employer or operating their own business.
We are so very excited to celebrate Dorothy Argent, SHUSWAP WOMAN OF THE YEAR!
Dorothy is a catalyst in our community: connecting with professionals and organizations, bringing others together to provide the best service. An instrumental driver in many community projects including Skills Link Program for Youth, Salmon River Watershed and through her connections as Board member with the Switzpalph Cultural Society, she strives to build bridges of understanding through the sharing of cultural knowledge.
Dorothy Argent has a great sense of humor and dedication to all that she does and while being a mother to her grown children and a grandmother, she is also known as a mother to all.
In total, fifteen amazing women were nominated this year. SEE THEM ALL The award for 2009.2010 was presented at the It's All About Women gala event on Saturday evening. January 30, 2010 in Salmon Arm.
