Shuswap Women in Business
Women Helping Women Succeed
History

In 2003, a few women, some new to the area, got together and started meeting for monthly lunches. They had a vision of starting a local womens’ networking club, where they could meet more like minded people and fill a much needed niche in this area.

It took many lunches and hours of planning strategies to get us to where we are today.

We would like to recognize those women who initiated this club and remain with us to ensure the sustainability of this organization: Marion Sherwin, Lorraine Pilon and Kathy Bolton. Shuswap Women in Business was officially started in September of 2004 with 11 members, a membership fee of $40, an agenda to meet once a month with special guest speakers, and the vision to see our membership grow.

We are currently partnering with other community and provincial organizations, to support and promote a variety of venues which are focused on women in business.
